The Krishnamurti Foundation of America

May 2014

Dear Friends,

This weekend, May 10th and 11th, we will be hosting our Annual May Gathering here on the grounds of the Krishnamurti Educational Center in Ojai. If you are planning to attend and have not yet pre-purchased lunch tickets, click here to do so.

If you will not be able to make it to Ojai for the gathering but would still like to participate, we will be live streaming videos and offering a chat room for discussions around the topics presented. Visit kfa.org/gathering this weekend to explore these options.

Also, if you are planning to extend your visit, please note that the foundation, including the east-end KEC campus and library, will be closed to the public after May Gathering, beginning Monday, May 12, because we will be hosting the annual International Trustees Meeting. We will re-open to the public on Wednesday, May 21.

This July we are looking forward to offering the first ever Think on These Things 3-Day program for young adults (ages 18 - 30), facilitated by program director Amanda Lezra and Student Intern Cory Fisher. This will be a space for participants to inquire into themselves and their relationship with the world in a safe and introspective way.

Along the same lines, we will also be holding our annual Educating the Educator week-long program in July, offering educators and anyone with an interest in education the opportunity awaken a sustained passion for education, parenting, and generally connecting with young people.

We hope we have a chance to connect with you this weekend.

Jaap Sluijter

Executive Director

New Book: "Discover the Immeasurable"
A new book from 1956 talks in Hamburg, Germany by J. Krishnamurti
"Self-knowledge brings wisdom. And as the mind begins to understand the whole process of itself, it becomes very quiet, completely still, without any sense of movement or demand. Then, perhaps, that which is not measurable comes into being."
Think on These Things Video: "On Success"
A Think on These Things Video from Earth Day 2014 at Oak Grove School

Accepting New Interns

The Krishnamurti Foundation of America hosts resident interns for one year.
