At this time of the year, the campus of the Educational Center (KEC) is filled with the sweet fragrance of orange blossoms. The past few weeks we have been pruning and mulching the several hundred trees and our orange grove looks wonderful, ready for our Annual Gathering on May 5th and 6th.
The Archives have been given a boost by a two month visit of the archivist Wendy Smith, the guardian angel of the three International Krishnamurti Archives. She is working on making sure that all of the several thousand recordings of Krishnamurti's works are digitized completely, an arduous task when you realize that in some cases you need to patch together parts from two or more tapes. We are also working on planning and budgeting the vast amount of archival projects to be done these coming years. Part of this planning is to identify how we can incorporate the help of volunteers, either on-site or from their homes.
"Relationship is self-revelation; it is because we do not want to be revealed to ourselves that we hide in comfort, and then relationship loses it extraordinary depth, significance and beauty. There can be true relationship only when there is love, but love is not the search for gratification. Love exists only when there is self-forgetfulness, where there is complete communion, not between one or two, but communion with the highest; and that can only take place when the self is forgotten."
